horoscope

i actually read my horoscope today and found it worth sharing:

Delays loom all month. Instead of stressing, use the lag time to reflect on where are right now. You may actually enjoy the waiting game. Cash is coming on the 11th. Splurge on a relaxing massage.

anyways, i don't know what to make of it. just thought it was interesting. hopefully the money part is true since i'm broke!

so august is a month of 1 year anniversaries. i'll be at my job for a year on the 18th and mark and i will have lived in alameda for a year on the 16th. it's been a fun year and it went by really fast. i don't know what i'm hpoing for in the coming year at work and at home. i just hope not to move anywhere and that they don't raise our rent!

that's me, loi (in the bright orange) and dr. penza. i think this was taken after all the patients left and we were getting ready to go home. i remember that loi took me out to lunch at the cheesecake factory!

I worked as an eye doctor assistant for a little more than 2 years and it was a fun job. the people were great and the patients (well most of them) were nice. i sometimes miss working downtown and being part of the hustle and bustle of the financial district. i miss eating at the little cafes and hacing 2 hour lunches. jerry used to have lunch with me sometimes and we'd go to this little food court in the basement of a building. it wasn't the best food but it was good enough for us to eat in silence with the random comment here and there. i miss being able just go shopping after work and i miss my old coworkers - loi and steve and lynn... i don't miss dr. penza's crazy days or not being able to find a patient's chart because janet had it in her pile and never says anything. i don't miss the patients who have to try on every pair of frames in the office who would then decide they liked the very first pair they tried on. i also don't miss the hour long ride home on bart and then bus...

aaahhhh... those were the days.
