see ya next summer...
i can't believe that the summer is over and that i have gone a whole month without blogging. where have i been?! that is a good question cause i don't even know...
fall is here and that means the end of hot weather, time to put away the flip flops, good-bye baseball (until next april), the beginning of football and basketball, boo! halloween will be here soon, my birthday(!), christmas is around the corner, my friends bernard and jaclyn will be getting married and 2006 is just months away.
this summer has been great... we went down to socal for the weekend, went to disneyland, met up with some old friends, celebrated our 2 year anniversary, went to 18 (yes..count 'em 1-8) baseball games, went to many picnics and celebrated many birthdays, visited the windy city, saw two of our friends get married, rented a big waterslide, and my legs even got a shade darker! i'm sad that the summer is over but i'm excited for the fall and winter.
but before i can officially welcome fall, here is a quick update on how the summer ended.
*our friends carla & brian got married in august. it was a really cute wedding. they got married in milbrae and the reception was at dominic's in san mateo. it was at a golf club and it was very nice! they looked so happy and you can feel the love. i was so happy that they had invited eric and i to be there for their special day. they are truly one of my favorite couples!
*the slide!!! i cannot think about the summer without mentioning the slide! so we all decided to rent this slide for the day after we had so much fun with one of those jumping houses. yes, it is for little kids but we're all little kids at heart. we spent the entire day climbing up and then sliding down into a little pool. it was so awesome. we enjoyed it so much that we are making it an annual thing to rent it for labor day weekend!
*chicago... eric and i visited chicago with the berkeley crew for the weekend. it was so much fun. we went to a cubs game at wrigley. wrigley is sooooo nice. even though it is old school, it was really, really nice. being there made me feel like this was how baseball was years ago.
we also played tourist and walked around the downtown area. we saw the buckingham fountain which can be seen in the beginning of the beginning credits of married with children.
we also went to millenium park, where we saw a big bean but is really called the could gate.
(this picture was taken of our reflections off of the bean!)
we went up to the john hancock building and saw nice views of chicago even though it was cloudy. we shopped along the magnificent mile and i finally was able to shop at h&m (when is it opening here?!)!!! we ate A LOT!!!! we had the italian beef sandwich, deep dish pizza, yummy southern/cajun food, thai food, and hot dogs. yum!!! it was so much to be in another city that i think i want to plan a trip to boston or new york next year. definitely during baseball season so we can go to a game.
*we went to a lot of a's games this season and i even met some of them. it was a great season but too bad they did not make it to the playoffs. they played such great baseball and they overcame a lot of injuries and went from last place to spending a couple days at first. in august they never let the angels get more than 5 games ahead of them. but in september they started to slip after crosby and harden were injured. it's ok though... there is always next season.
well that is how my summer ended... it was great but now it's time to get the sweaters and coats out!
